Counselling

VA&A’s counselling service provides professional and confidential therapy to adults, young people and carers experiencing challenges related to vision loss and blindness.

Our Counselling Service

After diagnosis, you may experience a range of difficult emotions such as stress, anxiety, and grief. Our counselling service meets you with acceptance and compassion wherever you are along life’s journey. Using evidence-based techniques, you will learn effective coping strategies to address potential distress and trauma due to your diagnosis.

VA&A’s counsellor is highly qualified and experienced, with Master-level degrees in human services and counselling. She has a 10-year history supporting people with vision loss and extensive experience counselling individuals who are experiencing anxiety, stress, grief, loss, and/or the effects of trauma. Therapy will be guided by you and your needs at any given time, and your individual counselling goals will be the focus of your therapy.
